Hi, as it happens in the past, but never with 6.49, after login I’ve experienced a 2 minutes 100% cpu for no reasons. I don’t know if the router was in 100% condition before, probably not, it has a minimum quantity of devices to manage on capsman only. This issue happens rarely, maybe 1 over 20 connections in differnt days, but often after connection (over internet) the router is not responsive, I’ve to wait some seconds to see the values populating windows, the cpu vu meter isn’t showing high values, I don’t know from what it depends. the router and all its caps reboots every morning at 6am, I’m using its power adapter.
This time I was able to start tools>profile, pity I haven’t made a video, I’ve noticed the SSL reached the most higher peak, it it can mean something, but as you see other processes are involved. WHat impressed me is that it keeps for about 2 minutes, no reason for that, the values on windows during that time are not present, only when the CPU cools down to 0-2% as typical.
WHat can it be related too?
It might be your open winbox who’s bogging router0s CPU down. Try running /tool profile cpu=all in a terminal (ssh) session and see if output is the same.
I’ve checked the logs and this happens exactly when I log in, everything become messy, the caps disconnecting, and so on. There may 2 effects, 100% cpu for 2 min as first foto or not populating as the second
I really hope you can enable on Winbox the log copy/paste or export, save logs in a file then drag is not that fast, and logs are essentials. Please enable copy text from there, thanks
Running winbox with windows with counters/statistics (like firewall or interface) will increase the CPU quite a bit. You are using one(if not the) slowest of the CPUs available on current hardware. I suggest closing all windows in your session and close /re-open winbox. Your CPU will most likely be lower just due to the amount of information winbox obtains on login.
that has sense, I hope they will mind to solve it in future.
By the time I’ll remember to close all windows before log out, to avoid ask it “too many data” on next acess. The log window was onen, and it’s full of Capsman entries of devices moving between caps.
The router is enough for this usage, there is no sens to buy a more powerful one just to access with log window opened.
Thanks for your answers
