I have a link setup from building to building, Its about 1000 feet. Both ends are 532’s w/sr5 cards. I have small 19db antenna’s and the power output shows 4dbm (7db offset), so 11db. There are a couple of tree’s in the way.
I have nstreme and polling enabled.
Right now the ccq is around 70/80 and the throughput is around 10mbit tcp. Are there any settings that I can change to make it better besides cutting down the tree’s?
You could try higher gain antennae, say 26dBi. That would give you two benefits, higher raw signal power and being more directional will cut down any background interference.
Frequency is 5.3xx. I have 6 other 5.8/5.3 Mikrotik Radios on this tower varying from 2000’ to 13 miles, and this is the only one that is not performing correctly due to line of site (i think). We are going to try moving it over on the building to see if we can get a better line of sight.
It also seems that the links that are closer (1 is 2000’ the other is about 1 mile) seem to not have as stable of an rssi. I’m graphing them with intermapper and the longer 6 and 13 mile links keep a very steady rssi.
I do have some 24db antenna’s, I will try that.
Signal is around -55
I have not tried turbo, as we don’t have a need for the extra speed. Is there any other benefit to using turbo?
