10BASE-T slowing down all network ?

Hi,

I was experiencing seemingly random slowing on my network, where a new CRS125-24G-1S-2HnD with 6.7 is the core router. 100Mbit internet connection, but at some points I could use only 2-4Mbit, although there was almost no traffic on the router. ISP said not their fault. Tonight I have found the issue. One of the clients’ motherboard when turned off connects as 10BASE-T, I guess for WOL purpose - as soon as I turned off that port, the speed rocketed to normal, 100Mbit net speed and all. Tested 3 more times, the issue is confirmed.

Why is this? I’m quite sure this router is not a hub to limit the speed to the slowest link.

You aren’t alone, it’s the 6.7 firmware- http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/6-6-to-6-7-crs-very-slow-lan-speed/72330/1 From that thread, there apparently is an early 6.8RC available that is fixing the issue after defaulting and rebuilding the settings.

I have a CRS125 in an office and am holding at 6.6 until things smooth out.

Thank you, that’s really reassuring fix is on the way

Confirmed that 6.8rc1 with config reset fixes the issue.
