-117 Noise floor on XR2 (card not working till reboot)

I have a Xr2 on a RB133 running 2.9.51 to a 17Dbi 90 Degree vpol sector…every few hours or few days (pretty random) i’ll notice no users connected..

if i check the cards noise floor its at -117 (normally -95 to -98). If i either reboot or even click scan on the card then stop, all the users will reconnect, the noise floor will go back to -95 and all will be fine until it happens again.

any ideas? maybe power? i have 18V going to the board which has a sr2 and a Xr2…i have many setups EXACTLY like this with no issues so i dont think its power.

just wondering if anyone has seen the -117 noise floor before i go way up there.

tks

Yes, make sure your power supply has enough power. I would use the 24HPOW power supply which is 38 watts. If you are using the 18POW with only 18 watts (1 amp) you might be on the edge of overload.

hi jo2jo, we had same problem with sr2. we replaced antennas, cables, power supply - nothing. problem we solved after replacing the card. two months till that it still working fine.

Had the same problem here. Just with an Sr2 we think it was static electric build up in the antenna which “hurt” the diversity chip or something else in the wireless card. Replacing the card and making sure your grounding is proper should fix the problem. Good luck. -Jordan

bad grounding hurts not only sr2 cards, it destroys all w-less ifaces.

I havent been out there to change the power supply, but it seems after setting hte tx power to default as opposed to 22 or 24 (i know its rated at 27, but i see better RX by my other APs at 22 or 24 vs 26 or Default).

No problems for past 6 days.

ill still change the PS soon though.

tks
