16 km link

hi friends…

i am planning to use a R711-5Hn (MMCX) board with a 27dBi Panel Antenna to make a 16 kms PTP link.

Radio Mobile has given me great results…

Inputs will be highly appreciated…

What tehre can be added.

calculated should be -63, please have in mind that radio signal always fluctuate, but even if it will drop down to -69 you will still be able to decode maximum modulation.

What is your bandwidth expectations / need ?

What is height at TX end, studio looks like ground level.

My advice would be not to put the link into production until you have experienced all weathers.

Ducting may cause an issue on this service. Since both ends are at extreme elevations, if you have a temperature inversion you may find a loss of 10-20dB as you struggle to get that signal through a layer that is determined to refract it.

Wait for the day when you see smoke from chimney stacks going horizontal and check the signal levels again.

min. expected bandwidth is 1MB. the more i get will be a bonus for additional VoIP & IP Camera.

Studio is at 620mtrs. (above sea level) and Broadcast tower is at 1200 mtrs. above sea level. currently one Motorola PTP 100 (Canopy) System is operational. No smokes as there are no chimney’s and max rainfall is around 60mm/hour.

temperature variations are not high either.

motorola PTP100 is currently giving a ping response of ‘2ms’ on this 16kms link.

can i expect similar results from mikrotik? or maybe better

i have a link on groove 5hn with 24 dbi grid antennas for 30 km. Signal -66/70
The bandwidth test gives me above 7 mbps.
Used it for Camera and Internet with no problems. Camera bandwidth access over LAN gives above 12mbps. 16 CCTV camera running. Ping response when camera running is 2-3 ms. Not enabled NV2 yet.

Thanks to Mikrotik.

this boosts my confidence

long live mikrotik!!!

the link should be fine.

i plan to put the following to use

http://lanbowan.en.alibaba.com/productshowimg/307235114-200301593/5GHz_27dBi_Integrated_Antenna_with_Enclosure_ANT5158D27IE_.html

it has a beamwidth of 9 degrees.

anyone having experience of using LANBOWAN equipment??? performance / stability wise??

Can you specify the name of the software that you use for this. My company is interested in buying a good program for setting up links and viewing the topology of the terain

you from India?? which part??

software used is Radio Mobile.

You can have 9 deg beamwidth on many 23/27dbi grids.

actually i am looking at providing a integrated solution in this and hence want to avoid the ODU + GRID combo.

any other idea/input will be highly appreciated.

How much cost that antena? How do you buy this antenna from alibaba?

how many units do you want?

what is your shipping address??

I had never see a 27dbi panel. It should be huge or it’s fake.

why have you never seen ??

it is not a fake. the only difference is the beamwidth is higher than a grid or a parabolic dish of the same gain.

how and where to use it is installer justified.

10 units, slovakia

do you have your shipping account?

PM me…
