Hello all!
Recently I configured CAPsMAN in my house using Mikrotik’s wiki. I also checked a couple of youtube videos since the screenshots on wiki are related to older version of Winbox but no big deal, I managed to make it work as needed. During the setup I had issues with two AP’s but I suppose that was due to my mistakes related to previously configuring the AP’s. In the end, I performed Netinstall on those two AP’s (resetting config wouldn’t do it). One of those 2 AP’s was fixed completely, in the other one remains a problem which was there before Netinstall - when CAP is activated, the AP won’t transmit SSID. It would only transmit SSID after a config reset, the standard Mikrotik-xxxxx SSID. But when I activate CAP in it, SSID disappears.
I’m attaching 3 screenshots. IP 1 is the router, IP 150 is the properly working AP and IP 153 is the AP that doesn’t show SSID. I will just add that I never disabled SSID transmission manually, even for testing.
Have you ever seen that before? If more info would be required to be able to tell what’s the issue, I’m ready to provide it.
