2.3 ghz rb532 parabolic grid 24 dbi

hi

i bought a new routerboard 532 with license extra channels , sr2 atheros card ( ar5213 )
i tested it on 2.4 ghz for distance 12 km it works well but when i put it on 2.3 ghz i can see the client associate / deassociate ,

i appreciate any idea may help my need

regards

Hmm, I guess a simple answer** to your question would be : Would you put gasoline in a diesel powered car? .. if your answer is yes then put the down the wifi equipment :astonished: . But seriously … Im assuming*** that your referring to a 24dbi grid dish, well most are made purposely for 2.4Ghz (etc .. placement of dipole etc) and to use any other freuqency on em would cause almost complete distortion. If thats not the case, which it probably is your card might not support 2.3 very well as the newer models have embedded 2.4Ghz “cleaners”.

My suggestions are to use an antenna or antennae that are designed for 2.3Ghz – link http://www.stelladoradus.com/mmds.antennas.php and to use a card that can handle 2.3Ghz. The R52 of course.
Regards

I have different experience with you. Currently, I have existing link with freq 2.372 GHz use 24 dBi of antenna. Here is the capture of my link.

I’d say your problem is the SR2 - it’s a 2.4GHz device, and Ubiquity have pretty tight filtering (so described “cleaners”) on the front end of their devices to improve performance in the specified range…

Although their datasheets show a 2312-2732 operating range, there is a ‘’ next to this. I have been discussing this with them, and they agree that there is supposed to be a footnote describing the '’ as something like ‘potential range of chipset supported in band-specific UBNT devices’

Also, how have you configured the station MT? Is it set up as a station or a bridge? Have you specified a scan-list if it is a station?

i put 2 pcs pentium III 900mhz with ar5213 shipset 24dbi parabolic grid frequency =2312 distance between both ends 45 kilometers -65 dbm bandwidth tested from laptop to mikrotik router through this link it was 11 mbit/s full duplex , i only need this bandwidth

my question was why i cant use this frequency on routerboard on sr2 400mw pcmcia card

Sorry to butt in when you have addressed warwick09… I think I described the most likely reason for the non-performance of the SR2 in 2.3? It has absolutley nothing to do with your mainboard platform…

Ubiquity have a 2.3GHz specific product - the SR2.3 & XR2.3 - probably what you should be trying.

:sunglasses:

now i understood ,
i must use sr2.3 or xr2.3 to achieve my goal

thank you GWISA
