Let say client is an laptop. How meters from access point it will receive good signal(without any interruption)

Well with my setup, Rb133 sr2 15 dbi omni antenna, i was able to acheive (Through my house) to the end of my road which is roughly .2 miles im guessing, maybe .3, that was with 1 mbit though, Laptop wireless cards are omni style very low dbi, and very low output power… but with a laptop and a pcmcia d-link card i was able to acheive those distances.. With a similar set up 130ft up a tower and good line of site, I got .5 mile with Intel 2915ABG card. Since I’ve swapped to a CM9, I’m certain I would have gotten a little better. The Intel cards have a tx power bug. I never got more than 30mw transmit.
The signal was high 80s/low 90s, marginal at best, but it did work in clear conditions.

What PCI card Do you recomande to use on the desktops to have a good performance ( longest possible range & Bandwidth)
UMMMMM Find one that has the highest output power you can find, and put a Higer gian dbi antenna on it than 3 dbi or possibly an external antenna outside pointing toards wherever your AP is… like a 9 dbi directional patach antenna.. Thats what i suggest! -Jordan
