2.4GHz issues

Hi Forum,
I have done a lot of reaserch, and i’d like to have different points of view,
why reassociating, extensive data loss and sent deauth occur on a wireless interface?
noise? if so, how much?
fresnel? fading?

regards,

My experience is that it is very situational… the error really means BAD LINK!

Could be:

  1. not enough power going to card (seen this when you try to populate RB112 with two ‘higher’ power cards)
  2. Interference (could be in-band or out-of-band)
  3. Obstruction (trees, etc.)
  4. Reflections (large metal barn in the way)
  5. Many other things that can go wrong

Since I have control of where I mount the antenna 90% of the time when I see this it is some type of interference and changing channels solves the problem.
Of note if you operate on small channels (5 MHz and 10 MHz) this error is extremely common when other 802.11 devices are operating (actually transmitting data) in the vicinity of the AP.

Cheers

do you think that a bad link could generate those issues on other associations? (on the same card, of course)
