I am working on a 2.4ghz to 2.4ghz relay. Using 2.9.32 code and Atheros AR5413 radios. One card is setup to recieve on ch 6 the other is set as an access point on ch 1.
The first setup I did was a Rootoo flat panel antenna with an rb112 with both cards inside the rootoo compartment and an n-type connector through the back panel. From there I went to a 9db Omni antani with a 6ft low loss 400 cable.
With the omni turned off the recieve connection worked great no problems for like two weeks. Any time I turn the omni on I get 2-3 disconnects on the recieve radio that says lost beacons. I can then turn the omni off and the problem goes away.
I guessed having both radio’s inside the rootoo was a problem, interfearance. So I moved the rb112 to an external enclosure and two n-type connectors and used a 14db grid and still the same omni. And the problem is still happening.
Do you think I need more separation between the antani’s, I have the receiver grid mounted about 4 feet below the omni. Or is there something else that I need to look at?
