2.5Gb Fiber Between L009 & CRS305-1G-4S+IN?

Hi,

I have L009 and wish to use SFP cage as an uplink to a CRS305-1G-4S+IN. I see on the compatibility page MikroTik wired interface compatibility - RouterOS - MikroTik Documentation these statement:

  • CRS3xx series switches - All SFP+ interfaces can be used in 2.5G mode if required
  • L009 series - SFP interface can be used in 2.5G mode if required.

What it doesn’t say is which SFP are required? Do I install dedicated 2.5Gb SFP or do I install 10Gb SFP+ and configure for 2.5Gb using the CLI command

/interface ethernet set sfp-sfpplus1 auto-negotiation=no speed=10G-baseSR-LR sfp-rate-select=low

Thanks

Adi

Following since I have a similar problem with L009 and CSS318 ( but ethernet, not fiber).

SFP+ does not work in L009, that I already know.
I also have fs.com 2.5gb base-t sfp module which does NOT work in.L009 but it DOES work in Hex S 2025. Same ROS 7.21rc1 was used.

If the interface can negociate at 1, 2.5, 5, 10 ; the real speed will depend of SFP capabilty.

It would be good to know which SFP have been tested to be known to work. And likewise, when the other end is a SFP+ port, which SFP supports the 2.5Gb on the SFP+ side. I don't expect Mikrotik to supply a 3rd party vendor support list, but having information on supported Mikrotik SFP and speeds would be good.

I found it on the same page I already mentioned. MikroTik wired interface compatibility - RouterOS - MikroTik Documentation

In the 10G SFP+/25G SFP28 category it shows L009 supporting all, except S+RJ10, with footnote

  1. L009, L22/mANTBox ax 15s, L23/NetMetal ax, FTC21 - supports up to 2.5G rate (works with forced speed setting).
