I downloaded the 2.9.2 image, used dd if=292.img of=/dev/sdc to load it, and when placed in my NET4511 the machine shows a proper post, a couple of lines about initrd like a proper Linux start, then the console just goes unresponsive.
I’ve tried every speed from 9600 to 115200 and 19200 is the only one that seems to run right. I’ve used two different flash cards and two different 4511s.
What might I be doing wrong?
hm, with Winbox or Neighbor viewer, you also can not access the Router ?
I don’t know what those are - I have a 4511 and a console cable from my SuSe 9.2 machine to it. There is a FreeBSD machine downstairs I could use, but I have not other systems running MikroTik nor do I have a Windows machine.
I would very much prefer to get the serial console going for it …
Have you tried setting your console speed on the Soekris to 9600 then connecting to it at 9600? I’ve run into this with the 4501…
