Hello,
i upgraded a RB133c from 2.945 to v3 rc4 an now the RB does not work anymore…
I can ping the device without problems, but there is no access via winbox, ssh, telnet…
If i go to the router by www, the page sometimes answers but it needs about 60sec till it responds…
what can i do now?
Where is the problem? Is v3 not ready for rb133c yet?
Serial null modem cable and you will get all access you need
no other possibility?
RB is on a house top atm…
i’ve found that 2.9 → v3 upgrades often reset the installed packages. for all 100 series boards I’ve had to disable all packages except for system, wireless, routerboard and dhcp otherwise they hang forever on boot.
okay - i haven´t disabled these packages…
So - there seems no way to downgrade the router without having it in may hands, right?
boot the router, and try waiting about 15 minutes before trying to logon. then logon only via telnet or mac-telnet (NOT winbox), be prepared for the logon time to exceed 5 or 10 minutes. then disable the packages (takes at least another 5 minutes for commands to process (sys pack pr, and the disable 1,2,3 etc command). Once that is done, reboot via command line. That has worked for me a few times, if for some reason it doesn’t come back up after 10 minutes, it probably failed the package modifications and locked up, and in my experience only a netinstall can save you then.
thanks a lot for information - i will give it a try…
