2 firmware update locations ?

I got a MikroTik RouterBOARD 3011UiAS and have been updating to the Stable channel here:
http://x.x.x.x/webfig/#System:Packages.Check_For_Updates
Installed Version 6.43.8
Latest Version 6.44

But I have noticed that there is another place as well
http://x.x.x.x/webfig/#System:Routerboard
Factory Firmware 3.27
Current Firmware 6.43.8
Upgrade Firmware 6.43.8

There is an Upgrade button which would let me upgrade the firmware.

What is the difference between the two places and do I need to upgrade both of them or ??

Software = RouterOS, your first method
Firmware = RouterBOOT, something like BIOS. Your second link.

Normis, I keep both up to date, after waiting a few days of course to see if there is some disaster (selfishly waiting of course). Is there a prescribed procedure for the routerboard such as
a. keep it the same as OS or
b. keep it one behind latest OS in case of issue cropping up on latest OS?

Just some guidance appreciated for us non-IT folks ( pretenders  )

99% of the time, the Firmware has no effect on existing devices. But keeping it up to date is good, in case there is something that really affects your device.

Thank you!

For some reason my firmware won’t upgrade - any ideas?

Model RouterBOARD 3011UiAS
Serial Number 689A05E7C324
Firmware Type ipq8060
Factory Firmware 3.27
Current Firmware 6.44
Upgrade Firmware 6.44

I tried both UI and Terminal.
Yes I have rebooted

your routeboard firmeware is updated, (its the one named current).
Factory firmware does not change its what the unit was delivered with…

You are up to date.

You have a “current” firmware (think of as BIOS) and a “factory firmware” which you will never be able to upgrade and is there purely for in case of emergency.
