I am going to be setting up 2 frequencys on the same tower.. 2.4ghz and 900mhz. That is not the problem my problem is will i HAVE problems if i put both omnis side my side at the same height and elevation. Picture one 2 inch tubing going striaght up 15 feet and clamping 2 omni’s on the very top of it side by side. Now my question will this be a problem will there be interference. Will performance decrease due to the closeness of the to omni’s Even though they are on different Frequenceys? If this will cause problems what is the best method to use. thanks -Jordan
Yes, this is a good question:)
I am waiting answer for this questions..
Does anyone have any input on this? this would be very helpful to us? thanks -Jordan
Depends on the product. If you 900 card uses a 2.4 radio with a downconverter, I would suspect that it will pick up some crap from the 2.4 omni.
that the card is Xr Sr 9’s Ummmm Not sure about the Xr’s if there 2.4 radio downsized. Anyways How do you think i should mount them JP? One below the other so they cast out at different levels? Peoples advice would be very handy right now. thanks -Jordan
ALWAYS allow some seperation, even when different bands are used.
The Omnis will create shadows for one another.
Do a test…
In a pool of water, put the tips of 2 pens in the water, tap one of the pens to create little ripples in the water.
What you see happening to the ripples, happens to the radio waves.
Try this with different distances between the pens.
You will find that the further away the source of the signal is from an obstacle, the better the waves will ripple around the obstacle.
Good point Tjgrand. Thanks for your post. and yours JP . Sounds like i will ceperate the antenna’s as much as possible without loosing to much distance of elevation. Thanks guys -Jordan
