I’m trying to solve a bandwidth issue. I have 4 remote offices that all connect back to a central office for Terminal Services and VoIP. I currently use Cisco Pix’s over a 10Mb/896Kb to create 4 IPSec tunnels. Everything works fine but bandwidth is becoming a problem and causes high latency. I have put in core Mikrotik routers with bandwidth shaping and they have helped, but now I’m trying to double the bandwidth and replace the older Cisco’s with brand new RouterBoards(RB750G-4.11).
I have 2-ADSL(PPPoE) lines at 10Mb down/896Kb up both with a block of static pubic IP’s. I’m trying to configure them to be bonded and then run 4 IPSec tunnels to 4 different offices. I have used ROS a little in the past and took a class 5 years ago, but I have never tried this before. My thoughts are to create 8 seperate IPSec VPN tunnels(2 to each office, 1 from each ADSL line), then bond the 2 IPSec tunnels together to create 4 VPN connections(1 to each office). I can’t get the configuration firgured out. I have both PPPoE connections authentcated and I can get traffic to pass on E1 but I have to disable E1 to get E5 to pass traffic. I’m not sure where to go from here. Do I setup the VPN tunnels, if so How? Then bond the VPN’s, if so How?
Also, I have been reading about MPLS VPN’s. Would that be a better idea? Can the 2 PPPoE lines be bonded into 1 MPLS VPN line? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!! I have read every post and web doc/pdf I can find, but I’m still struggling and how to proceed.
Thanks in advance,
Bob
