2 public IP's on wan port 1

Hi all,

Presently I have a server (radius) behind a hotspot.
I’d like to make it public facing and completely exposed not nated.

The existing config:

internet —>modem---->switch—>wan port 1 public static ip (..*.1) on mtikrb750g.—>

hotspot lan port 2 192.168.88.1/24—>wireless bridge ptp—>server (radius) ip 192.168.88.9.

I would like to have the server to be directly public facing with a second static public IP, (..*.2).

Can this be done by putting 2 public IP’s on the wan port 1 of mtrb750g ?
Again the server is physically and virtually downstream and inside of hotspot.
If I could physically place the server box next to modem that would solve it but I can’t.
Suggestions as to exact config.?

Thanks

You can certainly put the additional public IP on your WAN interface but you would still need to NAT over to the server.

Placing the public IP directly on the server can also be done even if that IP is part of the WAN linknet but that involves various ARP / ARP proxy features and is best only done on an isolated segment. If the server is buried in the middle of your hotspot network it might not be a good idea.

Thanks,
I’m trying to avoid having to PPtP to the radiusmanager from various other hotspots for AAA.
I’ve tried a variety of methods.
Works fine from the local subnetted NAS to the local address on radiusmanager. Not so from “remote” subnets/NAS’s.
