I plan to purchase 2011UAS-2HnD-IN but not sure about VPN throughput.
Does anyone can say me about VPN bandwidth to expect on 100Mbit internet link?
Maybe simple rule exists like “divide max small packet bandwidth from specs into X”?
I expect that OpenVPN is the fastest VPN type for this board.

Euhm, if you wish to offer advice to someone, great. But don’t give advice without actually giving any. You just pointed him to the page which states the routing and bridging capabilities of this routerboard. It says nothing about how fast it can NAT or do VPN, etc.
Sadly, I don’t know either. There have been tests here on the forum that it can do NAT up to around 300Mbit. I myself use it on a 120/10 line and using PPTP VPN it is able to saturate my 10Mbit upload without a sweat.
From what I have read, OpenVPN seems to be a bit broken in RouterOS, only offering TCP and not UDP, etc.
Hopefully someone can setup a test for you. If I find the time I can try also.
So I did some simple testing!
I seem to be getting about 45 to 50Mbit of throughput through the PPTP VPN.
I tested using 2 different speedtest internet sites and using a few FTP servers which I know have more then enough bandwith.
This is using Windows 8 as the client, connecting to a RB2011 running at 750Mhz over my local LAN and switching the default gateway to the VPN connection. This will max the CPU of the routerboard to about 90% - 100%.
I tried with and without compression, that didn’t seem to make much of a difference. I believe it’s using 128Mbit encryption. All the default settings. The VPN ends in a separate subnet which can directly route to the internet.
More then enough for any home situation or small office. But site-to-site in a corporate setup you’d maybe want something a bit more powerful. It all depends on usage case. Hopefully this data is of use to you!
