2011UiAS-2HnD: Ethernet port keeps on resetting

Hello, I don’t know if this is the correct place to post the question but surely anyone could otherwise direct me to a correct place

After reading around on the internet in getting a new router my eye fell towards the Mikrotik due to its vast options (which I won’t use straight away but is nice for the future!). But I’ve ran into something that’s been bugging me from the start and is getting very annoying as of lately.

In the beginning i noticed my iPad needed much more buffering while playing a movie via XBMC but at the start i threw that on the fact that i was still using a iPad 2 for streaming so after selling that and using an Air i still noticed the issues. Futhermore I noticed that while playing games like WoW/Guild Wars 2/Wildstar or Battlefield3/4 there was a sudden lag spike during the gameplay. I started fiddling around with my computer but the issues ever remained.

Then after a while i wanted to reconfigure the Mikrotik i bought into something a bit more then the out of the box config. This also since i wanted to learn a bit more about the Mikrotik device itself. I reset the whole device and started with no config. Eventually made a NAT-Router out of it with a basic firewall in it. I’ve attached an export if you want to look over it, did remove any ip/wifi info though.

The lag/stutters still remained so i went ahead and checked the logging of the device. What i see a lot is the Ethernet 2 interface constantly going down and up again within a 3 second timespan and when that happens is when XBMC starts buffering or any game gives a serious lagspike. I’ve attached an image of the log output as well.

The Ether 2 port is connected to a different switch which resides on the top floor where another access point and my pc are. The cables to and from the wall are atm a cat5e cable. The cable running through the wall is a Cat7 cable. I swapped out all cables already and even moved the wall cable to a new wall cable but the reset still remains. Also in the mean time i have updates the router from 6.7 → 6.9 → 6.10

Is there anyone who has an idea on what can fix this or what the best solution is to go about? Thank you very much in advance for any help!

I have seen this problem on some long cable runs, but haven’t been able to solve it.

It could be EMF interference.
