last day i got a call from a desperate customer asking for a dedicated link of 20 Mbps internet connection i.e 20 Mbps up and 20 Mbps down. he is already having the service of another WISP, and in past he also tried couple of other WISP in the area. he complained me about the poor speed and services of the WISP he is taking service. he told me that that at any cost his speeds should never decrease from 20 Mbps up n 20 Mbps down and also the latency between both RB should never go higher then 7-8 ms even if the he is using the link at full capacity.
i m not sure which router board i shd use and how shd i configure my RB at boths end, which antenna and which mini pci card.
the distance of client from my base station is about 8 km but i hav already got 26 wireless PTP links consist of RB in 5GHz so there is a huge interference at my base station for sure.
Plz suggests how can i do it. LOS is clear, i need a real rock solid link with promised latency.
Thx..
thxx.
is not abou 20Mbps 1:1 i m aslo able to push this much of traffic with ease but its not stable, lot of spikes in latency, aslo the through put increases and decreases ever then and now, some time its reaches to 40-50 Mbps one way and on very next moment it goes down to 10-20 Mbps one way.. i mean stability is not there as found in product like motorola canopy radwin, etc.
the truth is that at that distance would not have problems with getting the 20mbps, but with the amount of radios you have interference on the tower must be overwhelming. something I learned in radio frequency is that not everything is written and often the spread behaves in unpredictable ways. I would try with dual polarity antennas and 802.11n technology, I recommend f52npro cards for rf and uses only Nstreme response time for a little more even, as in NV2 times are a little high and uneven. luck.
