is it supposed to boot in virtual pc? is it in the ‘supported hardware’ list?

is it supposed to boot in virtual pc?

v2.9.48 and previous v2.9 point releases boot and work fine in virtual pc, hope v3.0 to work as good.

3.0rc8.iso worked fine in virtual pc when it was burned into physical CD and mapped to physical CD-ROM.

it failed with messages shown in the root post when CD drive was mapped to .iso file.

is it in the ‘supported hardware’ list?

as said above, it worked when install in certain (more physical) way but didn’t in another (more virtual) way. it is in “supported hardware list” in my view.

I suspect your CD emulation was not correct, if it worked on a physical medium

you may be right.

more, tested file mikrotik-2.9.48.iso in CD emultaion mode just fine.

there appeared something in mikrotik-3.0rc8.iso (and rc7/rc6, maybe earlier rc’s, as well) that is different from mikrotik-2.9.48.iso that MS Virtual PC 2004/2007 doesn’t like.

will try other VM when time allow.

more update

netinstall’ed rc8/rc9 to VM under MS Virtual PC 2007 without problems with .iso.

netinstall works great!
