3.27 Disk Store problem

I’m using RouterOS 3.27 x86 and all the sudden my stores don’t show any active. If I activate (by winbox or console) I can’t tell when the store has activated. When I first boot the router it shows correctly, but after some time no more stores are active. If I check status in script or console it shows “backup” for all stores.

Mikrotik help ??

Have been seeing the same type of issue , but obly on the RB433UAH…

Are the stores you have issues with via sata, IDE or over USB ??

only IDE. Primary-master and Secondary-master are both IDE drives. Primary master is an 8gb drive, and secondary-master is a 20gb drive.

Normis, mrz, Mikrotik please fix. I can’t use scripts or anything to check status of a store. In 3.25 there was a major issue with NAND storage on Routerboards and I’m worndering if that “change” affects this issue.

I see the same behaviour on server running RouterOS 3.25 with two sata drives. Data is kept only on the first one. Second is not used yet.

 /store> print detail
Flags: X - disabled, A - active
 0 name="user-manager1" type=user-manager disk=sata1 status=backup

 1 name="dude1" type=dude disk=sata1 status=backup

 2 name="web-proxy1" type=web-proxy disk=sata1 status=backup

I’ve tried to force them to active, without much success.
Is this normal that they are in backup status?

Need an answer to this question. I have my network being monitored from a server that is “backed up” on two disks? Where is the primary?

Same here. I can’t do any store monitoring/management at all with this issue.

I had to scrap a 433UAH USB based design an go to an Atom / SATA design.
I could not find the cause, and had no time left to figure it out…

With SATA stores are fine… USB = eventual invallid store and then the onboard becomes the primary
I didnt want the onboard memory on the 433UAH burning up…

I will bring one of the USB to SATA converters with me to the USA MUM so the guys can bring it home for testing to see if it is the bridge device
causing the stores issues…

please upgrade to v3.28 and if you see this problem send the support output file to support@mikrotik.com

Will break out the 433UAH and give it a try this weekend…

Thx for the update..

This problem exists in 3.27 and 3.28 (that I’ve tested). I had a USB stick plugged in but not using it. Each time I rebooted stores would show up fine then show “backup” status after some time. When I removed to USB stick and rebooted, it’s been almost 24 hours and the problem has not occurred. Now the ONLY 2 drives I have are IDE 8gb and 20gb, no USB at all.

I’m wondering if plugging a USB stick in causes all the stores to show “backup” status after some time.

I will report back after running for awhile to check this as a workaround for now.

I’m using Mikrotik 3.28 without USB for about 6 days and I still get all stores showing up as “backup” after some time. All drives are IDE drives.

Upgraded to 3.30 x86 with same setup as last post (only IDE drives no USB).

I’ll post back after some time and see if the problem creeps up again.

yes, please let us know if this issue could be reproduced in the latest version. we have not seen it ourselves.

normis,

Did anything change from v3.28 to v3.30 regarding disk stores?

It’s been 4d with v3.30 x86 (again only IDE, no SATA, no USB) and so far no problems. My active disk stores show “active”.

Everything is looking good so far with v3.30…

UPDATE: it’s now been 6 days now, still no problems.

I’d say this issue has been resolved with v3.30.

Back again…

I’m seeing the same exact problem in x86 v4.6. Stores are showing up fine on startup, then after some time, none are active.
This is happening on Dude, Web-Proxy, and User-Manger stores all at once. After a reboot, they’re fine for some time.

Also, I’m having very strange issues with ‘/file find’. At random times, it just times out, and freezes scripts that rely on it.

Anyone else having any of these issues?
