3,5 GHz cards

Hi,

is it possible get 3,5 GHz cards and put into MikroTik?

Thanks

hi Oldrichu,

do you have license for 3.5GHz ? As far as I know, Atheros is not usable on 3GHz band and no other card with 3GHz is supported on Mikrotik.

Probably you will need complete hardware solution … which is going to be kinda expensive. I don’t believe you can’t use 5GHz solution in Vysocina… that band can’t be full

bye, Lubomir.

A number of vendors sell 2.4 to 3.5 GHz upconverters if you have some spectrum you can use.

And you would almost certainly require type approval on the finished system to use it.
An interesting idea though and would be interesting to hear if anyone’s used the upconverters successfully.

We are looking for 3.5 GHz too, for licensed, non-type-accepted use. 3300-3500 is an amateur band here and is essentally unused, it would be very nice for some long distance links. Yes, we can spend USD 650 each for an upconverter from 2.4. But are there any 3.5 cards?

German RegTP plans to issue a general permission like it is the case with 2.4GHz/5GHz for the 3.5GHz band. No special license will be necessary

I to am interested in the 3.5GHz Band. I look forward to seeing more equipment mentioned in the forums.

AFAIK the Atheros chipset used in the most popular mini-PCI cards do not support 3.5GHz band - and I’ve not seen any other brands of mini-PCI or cardbus that do.

Any other users know different? Are there 3.5GHz cards around?

If not, there’s going to be no easy way of implementing this other than using frequency converters
