Hi,
if I direct 3G/HSPA traffic into the pptp/l2tp → EoIP tunnel, the data transfer is jamming, the web pages are not charged in, or only partially for present. 100-200-300 kB data transfer are going width good speed, next the TCP data traffic stops. (SIP call width udp packets working fine.)
Moreover from among the 3 Hungarian service providers the Vodafone does not do this phenomenon, only the other 2.
Mobil connection width PC or RB411U, MT4.04, HUAWEI modem.
Was somebody’s experience similar?
Does somebody have an idea?
Adjusting Max MTU, MRU, MRRU?
Thanks
Most 3G providers assign private IPs (10.x.x.x) to 3G clients, which means they are NAT’ing at their edge, this usually kills VPN connections.
Since you say that Vodafone does not have this problem, this is probably because Vodafone is giving out real public IPs instead of private IPs… I’m not in Hungary so I don’t know, but that might be the case.
In other words, your setup is good if it works on Vodafone, so it is probably something with the other 2 providers that is blocking it.
Try using OVPN instead of PPTP/L2TP, it works much better in NAT environments.
In the US.. SPRINT can provide real IPs ..
I am working with a client that has cards with real IPs on them…
Have no idea what the cost is… but they can do it..
Dont know about other carriers…
