Hi, I need an help to make a stable 4.5km/5ghz ptp link using mikrotik products.
At the moment, since I had them available, I am using a mANTBox 19s with a LHG 5AC XL. And I can get about 100mbps / 90mbps with -62 / -66 signal and about 41db SNR.
My goal was to be able to carry at least 250-300mbit, so I tried to replace mANTBox 19s with a second LHG 5AC (not xl) in bridge mode, thinking that a directive antenna would be better. However i had disappointing results: signal does not go beyond -70 / -73 dB, and consequently speed is even more reduced than before.
Now, i see that LHG 5AC have 24.5dB gain (instead of 19db on the mantbox) although it has a lower maximum output power. But more or less I should see the same value on the link, isn’t it?
I order to achieve my bandwidth goal, what alternatives are there? Can Dynadish be a solution? I saw that gains 25dB and that output power is the same as the mantbox, but I don’t know if it will work better than another lhg 5ac xl. And I would like to avoid buying an antenna before being sure…
