Hi
About 2 years ago, I bought from Mikrotik (whilst attending the training session in Malta) a 4 port ethernet card, Mikrotik part number RB44. It has been working fine in my PC based MT box, which has one 2 other interfaces, one on the mother board and another on a single ethernet card in a PCI slot. We are using version 2.9.41.
The network(s) have been getting busier and busier over the last couple of years, and over the last few months I have been finding that one of the networks suddly stops working, and looses conectivity with the MT box. It as if one of the ports on the card simply stops working. I have tried diabling and then reenabling the inyterface (via winbox), but the only way I seem to be able to get the interface back, is by doing a complete reboot of the whole box. In WinBox the interface is reported as being all OK.
Any ideas whats happening. One thread on this forum suggested that the 4 port cards were not all that good news, and one person reported that he had better results (more speed) from 2 x dual port cards.
I wonder if I would do better if the card were to be replaced by the GBit version (RB44g) which I see is now available. Or could it be a PCI IRQ problem??
Any comments, suggestions gratefully received
