433 Case

Hi at all,

does anybody know whether is a new 433 case or not? (or planed?) The actual problem based on the new radio cards (e.g. R52Hn) they have an MMCX connector and if you try to use 3 cards inside of one case you will get a nasty surprise. There is not enough space, you can’t use 3 cards. Absurd, you buy an RB for 3 radio cards, buy also the case for the RB and the radio-cards itself but you can’t use this configuration.

Back to the roots… is there a new 433 case available?

But why would you need 3 radios indoors? You probably need them in a sector installation, and outdoors you have other cases.

We are working on new cases, and other cases are also available from our MFM partners:

Hi normis,

we use the RB433 for installation inside of a camouflage housing what allows the usage of indoor cases/equipment (but not without case). Its not possible to use bigger cases because there is not enough space. By using the “old” R52H with uFL pigtail we have no problems - why mikrotik change the pigtails? Better performance (lower losses)?

uFl is very fragile and could fall out. MMCX is sturdy and strong. It’s also easier to connect if you have big hands.

normis,

sure, but in our last installation 50 x 433RB with 3radio cards each, we have nearly at all radio card the problem what the pigtail (MMCX) bail-out from the connector so that we have to fix the pigtail at the connector by superglue.

MMCX falls out? I have not seen this. They are hard to unplug by hand even.

Yes, they do - the cable by himself is really stiffy - an if you 3 cards connected you get also a problem with space near the N-Connector

i find this arrangement cumbersome . n the ufl is OUT… not MMCX

You would be surprised at the number of customers that use 3 radio cards in an indoor case. I am glad to hear that you are planning taller cases.
