4g/Wi-Fi System for Sailboat

Hello.
I need to setup a 4G/wifi system for a boat, including a

  • Wi-Fi external omnidirectional antenna with
  • long range receiver with
  • powered ethernet cable to a
  • wifi router and 4g modem with
  • external omnidirectional antenna.
It is meant to be used in coastal area or on moorings. Not on open sea. Therefore we have a satellite system.

The previous system I have to exchange was a metal jacket badboy with pepwave router.
This system was to difficult to operate for the owner.
Therefore I would need a transparent and easy to use system with as little involved components as possible for an easy maintenance by the owner but on the other hand a very powerful system to work under harsh and rough conditions.
Is there a chance to get such a solution with a microtic setup? Or does any one of you has an other proposition for realizing such a system?

Thanks in advance!
Virginia

I can’t recommend any omnidirectional antenna for LTE/cellular. I never used someone before. For Wi-Fi you can use BaseBox + UBNT AirMAX Omni antenna. Works very well.

For LTE I know a 65° sector antenna. (L-COM HG72710XP-065)

And for conectorized device I recommend LtAP. You can add to it some pigtails to use external antennas. Not problem.
