4X single radio Mesh, do I need MME

I’m setting up 4 single radio mesh (WDS) system for a client that has 4 guest-houses in close proximity (100mX100m block with 2 or 3 houses in between)
Do I need MME or would MME give me any benefit as each hop is no more than 2 radios away?
