I have installed RC4 on a few different AP’s hardware ranging from 133, 411A, 433, 512. With various Atheros based cards and they all exhibit the same issue. If you have the AP interface set to anything other than “default” data rates the AP will not associate with any clients. Just curious if this is a known issue or not.
it has to do with scan-list. If you select different country or superchannel and frequencies does not match between AP and client scan-list then clients will not be able to connect to the AP.
To ensure that every thing is correct - select same country on AP and client, or make sure that you add frequency used by AP to the scan-list of client.
Looks like that took care of it. Was that a requirement that was added with version 5? I have never set country code on any of my ap/clients in the past.
you always had to specify correct country setting, so you use correct wireless channels set by your country. Also if you enter correct values RouterOS will calculate at what strength it can transmit to not to brake law with transmitting too powerful signal. If i remember correctly, then in 2.9.x and in 2.8.x this already was the case.
