Just upgraded a 433AH from 5.4 to 5.6 due to random lockups… Since upgrade yesterday, i can no longer log in via winbox.. Winbox goes to retrieving preference then there is sometimes a ultra fast flicker of winbox opening (thats what it seems) and all disappears. Even after a reboot no luck.. I need the darn GUI. Anyone else with this problem?

Are you connecting via IP or MAC-Telnet ?
What version of Winbox are you using ?
Have you tried from another computer ?
Yup, tried from 3 different machines. Just tried with winbox .18 as i had .16 and same issue… I can log in via tel and mac, but really need GUI
it could be that you are connecting to the router using mac-winbox with security enabled for the session, as a result, if something is getting lost, everything goes terrible for that session and it is dropped.
Nope.. been using MT for about 6 years now..with a few hundred units deployed. I should know how to get into the darn thing via winbox.. Happened immediately after upgrade…
try to unset the load-previous-session checkbox when trying to log in. Maybe that went bad? If that is not helping, delete downloaded dlls in app data.
in WinBox Loader, press ‘Tools… → Clear Cache’
