I am going to be trying to connect from one 5Ghz grid to another from about 1km away(with perfect line of sight), the only thing is that the one grid will be facing the back or side of the other grid. I have no experience with this type of networking. What is the chance that I will get a decent connection?
No, thats the problem. There 2 devices, lets say A and B.
A is point north and has clients connecting to it, B is south east of A. So A will not be pointing at B, but B will be pointing at A. I thought I might get a connection because of the short distance and theres nothing in the way.
I am connecting to a “community” network. Where whoever wants to connect buys there own hardware and if you have line of sight to someone else who is already up, you can connect. The problem is that the person I will be connecting to has a grid up(the A in my explanation above).
The end goal is to put a sector up at his location, but thought I might have a chance at connecting before we raise the funds for the sector.
