hello everyone i have a small wireless network i want to increase range my network anyone have a idea for a professional field bcz i want to provide service in 5 km distance & i have 300 plus users which AP i m use antenna’s amplifier etc any one interested pm me thanks in advance
what kind of devices are the clients using for wireless connection? what distance do you have now working?

i m willing to have such a base with AP’s, Amplifier, Secter Antenna’s etc that in the range of 5 KM in a dia meter client can access connectivity easily at wireless USB lan card without any external outdoor antenna means that just like mobiles a person can easily connect with our base in his own in any room with a built in antenna of wireless usb lan card.

it’s not possible, the client end also must have a good card and antenna. no matter how powerful the AP is, the client will not be able to TRANSMIT at that distance. A few hundred meters is a max you will get from regular laptop/phone clients.

then tell me what is my solution’s buddy i want to provide service in 5 KM roundabout i have 3 secter antenna’s 120 degree 20 dbi 1 watt booster what you suggest me which AP is good for me coz i have more then 400 clients & each client have must 1 mb bandwidth.

You don’t need the booster in the station side, coz if the signal didn’t reach the users 5km far a way, for sure the user will not be able to send the signal 5km far a way to station.
20dbi sector is good option because of the receive gain, the radio will have fixed receive sensitivity so it should be fixed, try XR2 600mW is enough.
the noise floor in the area will be a major issue, you should be a ware about the level that the signal will die after .
Try to put the sector in a very high place, and downtile the beam to cover the area and houses from top, so the signal from users will not go through many nighbor walls and buildings.
if there is an option in the client side radios try to let them go with 5mhz bandwidth, it will gie less throughput but more distance to go .
after all of these configuration you may if you are lucky cover 2km radius, ofcourse the clients should have wireless cards as mentioned 500mw with 9dbi if possible antennas.

If you want to connect clients with internal or fixed antennas, there is no way you can achieve 5 km radius. You have to set AP’s near clients, 50 to 100 m distance max. Longer distances would give unreliable connections.
