5.x AP 2Ghz-only-G 10Mhz Cannot Connect CPE

When I upgrade my AP from 4.17 to 5.4 my existing customers running any os from 3.x to 5.4 @ghz 10mhz cannot connect any more.

My AP Wireless Card is set to Mode AP Band: 2Ghz-only-g 10Mhz
Clinets are set to the same thing.

I thought it was my AP so I tried another site and upgraded all the customer cpes to 5.4
When I upgrade the AP to 5.4 again all the CPEs could not connect.
When I downgraded back to 4.17 they connected fine.

Any ideas please

A few things off the top of my head that I have seen cause this are.

  1. You have custom data rates set. Set them to defaults on the AP and clients.
  2. You have noise floor threshold set. Disable this setting if you are using it.

Also make sure you set your wireless protocol to whatever you want to use.

you may also want to specify the protocol.

you can also re-set the wireless settings back to default and then re-specify all the settings.

I turned the data rates to automatic and it worked – crazy is it a bug?
