50000 concuurent PPPOE session

hi all
i want to use Mikrotik as Central BRAS with high bandwidth throughput (more than 1Gbps).
now i decide to install OS on x86 server.
so what kind of server do you suggest regarding resources like RAM and CPU to support high BW.

I searched the forum and i found out that it is impossible with mikrotik, is it correct?
If so how can i have a central Mikrotik BRAS??? is there any way for integrate multiple system?

Regrads,

No one can help?

You can use 5-10 CCR´s and use them to load balance the sessions. It will work

sonny, how do you connect them?
I have all pppoe sessions trasnported in L2 using eoip.

Thanks

how/where do you connect all such eoip?

It means a CCR1009 can handle only 5000 pppoe session?

how can i load balancing pppoe server?

in theory ..
https://aacable.wordpress.com/2011/09/09/load-balancing-users-among-multiple-pppoe-servers-on-same-lan/

but in practice I do not know if it works well.

My question was instead how/where connect 50000 eoip tunnels

No I have only 10 eoip tunnels and want to know can i have a centeral BRAS for 50000 pppoe connection?
thanks

If you have 50k pppoe users then you are in serious business. Mikrotik is great but you need something like
Cisco 6400 fully loaded wit all 7 modules which will include 32k PPPoE clients.
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/routers/6400-series-broadband-aggregators/9256-6400-faq.html#q5

even then, you will need two of them.
If You are doing serious business then you need serious investments so be careful with choosing equipment’s.

I am convinced that your investments will be paid off.
Because 6400 is end of life, you should use some router like Cisco ASR1002 10G which can support 64,000 tunnels.

If one pppoe client make only 1$ profit par month you can return your investment in less then one month, for price ~30.000$.

@rodolfo

take a CCR 10XX and connect all EOIP tunnels theere.
Put them in a bridge then add more ethernet ports to that bridge.
On that ethernet ports you can connect BRAS systems, they will loadbalance for you automatically.
The faster one takes the pppoe session.

tanks sonny

That solution have you implemented?

This might be helpful now that the CCR1072 is out.
