50mbps down / 100 mpbs up wifi ac2

Got an ac2, on wifi am only getting 50-60 mpbs down and around 100 mpbs up. On ethernet getting 500 mpbs up and down.
If i connect a unifi ap and use that for wifi i get more than 300 mpbs (sadly i dont have any spare unifi aps)

issue consistent accross all clients.

out of box setup - RouterOS v6.47 (stable)

Can see many others reporting the exact same issue though so am worried this is a lost cause.

The ac^2 has 2 bands: wlan1: 2.4GHz and wlan2: 5GHz
In my region wlan2 is about twice faster than wlan1.
Ie. you should test the wlan interfaces individually.

Please configure WiFi , otherwise performance will be really low.

Can you please elaborate?

You want 300Mbps data rate ? You will need 866Mbps interface rate. That is a 80 MHz wide channel, 2 spatial streams (2 chains), High quality signal (free LOS (line of sight) between hAP ac2 and device.), no interference.

Set band to 5GHz "AC only". Fill in regulatory domain and region/country. (To get the legal local frequencies and power setting).
Installation is "any", NOT "indoor" !!! (even if its actually indoor)
In security profile only use WPA2-AES or "none". Don't use TKIP, it's too slow.
So choose a proper frequency on WLAN2 . Check that there is no other usage on that channel. ("Freq usage" tool). DON'T RELY ON AUTO CHANNEL SELECT!
Using the proper frequency is crucial ! Its 4 channels wide, make sure it does not overlap with others with any of the 4 channels.

If DFS channels are used, the device will be silent for 1 full minute, if weather radar channels are used (120-124-128) the silence is 10 minutes.

Connect client device and check "registration" of the device in "wireless". TX and RX rate should show "866Mbps/80MHz/2S/sgi" when traffic is generated.

Thank you so much bpwl, I followed your advice ( was already on aes) and immediately went from 50mbps down.100 up to 200 mbps down/up.
Also appreciate the advice on the radar time, I thought my 5ghz antennae was broken as it still wasn't up after more than 5 mins.
