5GHz 802.11n and Iphone plus some other devices fails

Hello Folks!

I have problem with 5GHz and 802.11n.

Iphone 5S refuses to connect to Mikrotik AP at 5GHz and 802.11n, it can see the network but it fails to connect by some unknown reasons.
It is not only Iphone, but also several other devices that show the same problem.
The same goes for Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S.

Changing to 2.4GHz immediate makes them connect.
Changing to 5GHz and 802.11a (20MHz) makes them connect immediate again.

So there is some problem with 5GHz and 802.11n and some devices.

Anyone who have any suggestions ?

Configure wpa2 security. Then it will work

I encountered the same problem previously and solved it by setting preamble-mode to “long” or 'both". It’s actually mentioned in the wiki :

I have also had the same issue. With both radios on at 2.4 and 5 all of my devices connect to the 2.4 radio. Have you guys had any luck with band steering and pushing devices to the 5 radio? If i disable the 2.4 radio my devices will flip to 5 and then i can re-enable the 2.4 radio. The only issue is that if my iphone leaves or is disconnected it will reconnect on 2.4 next time.
