5Ghz always "radar detected"

I picked up the cAP AC and I’m trying to get the 5ghz radio working. But it seems the only channels I can use are a few low down in the 5ghz spectrum. Any time I select a frequency that my Asus routers work on, I get the message “radar detected” and the radio goes inactive.
I’ve correctly selected UK but still cannot select many frequencies. 2.4Ghz seems to work fine, although its selected band 6 and its too wide. But I can fix that.

There’s nice table of wifi channels and their limitations. If you scroll down to 5GHz table, you’ll see there aren’t many channels without DFS limitation (channels 32-48).

Your old Asus routers might ignore the restrictions as most vendors did until some 5 years ago. Or they have less sensitive radar detection mechanisms in place. It’s hard to tell whether Mikrotik suffers of false positives or Asus doesn’t detect radars when it should have … not without some serious measurements using professional gear.

Ah I see. I did consult a similar table when setting up. I seem to have got the 5Ghz going on band 100, can’t remember what Fq that was in the settings but it seems to be working now. I now have to figure out the correct settings for the AP in Home Dual AP mode, with the RB4011 routing and firewalling.
