5km link: sig. strnght -83dBm, but associating/reassociating

hi there!

we have a big prob with a stupid situation.
two MT boxes with 23dB antenna grid and atheros ar5212 pci very cheap cards. we done a 5km link. signal str. is -83dBm. but wireless cards doin’ reassociation once every 2-3 seconds. log entry is smt like that: deauth: authentication not valid (2).

is there anybody who knows what log entry means (deauth: uthentication not valid (2).)

regards,
C. G.

P. S. Aaah… here is a log:

Hi there, here are some things to check in the winbox console:

You have either “default authenticate” in the card setting, or have the client’s mac address listed in the access table for that card.

also try “dynamic” ack timing, be sure its not “indoor”.

see i get these messages occasionally too and i do have default authenticate on.

no explanation i’ve been able to find so far for it..

hi,

default authenticate checked;
ack is dynamic;
mac is in the access list.

i have never seen log entries before and i just wonder what they mean.

hi,

same cards with antenna equipment are in 7 km. link. signal is -78, 811g, nstreme - 12Mbps tests.

is the problem we talkin’ about a poor signal or what…
