6.33.1 Broken SSH

Hi,

SSH stopped working and nothing I can do will get it going again.

lwhite@hephaestus ~ $ telnet 172.30.38.68 22
Trying 172.30.38.68…
Connected to 172.30.38.68.
Escape character is ‘^]’.

It will sit like this forever.. hours, I even tried changing the port to 2222. Same thing.

[admin@mns-gpx22-sw01] > /ip ssh print

action timed out - try again, if error continues contact MikroTik support and send a supout file (13)
[admin@mns-gpx22-sw01] > /ip ssh regenerate-host-key
This will regenerate current SSH host keys (changes will take affect only after service restart or reboot), yes? [y/N]:

Here it refuses to accept Y or N, all I can do is hit CTRL-C.

Any functions to deal with SSH basically freeze and require disconnect of telnet and reconnect or ctrl-c.

Hi.
sorry to reopen a very old topic, but I’m facing the exact same problem on RouterOS v.7.15.2

This started to be bogus after I tried to import an SSH Key , Webfig was hanging with a timeout, then I tried with the Terminal.

Now I can no longer connect via ssh …
And in WebUI / terminal a simple ssh print gives the error:

[admin@MikroTik] /ip/firewall/nat> /ip/ssh/ print
action timed out - try again, if error continues contact MikroTik support and send a supout file (13)

Do what is written there.

Good afternoon Infabo and thanks for the honesty, kindness and humanity of your suggestion.
Before opening a support ticket, I wanted to get some insights from the friendly community.

For anyone having the same issue: the problem was solved by the recent update of RouterOs to v7.15.3.
SSH public key import was broken since the release of v.7.15

*) ssh - fixed unsupported user SSH public key import (introduced in v7.15);

Have a nice day,
