Does anyone have over 600 pptp clients on their network using version 2.9.51 with dynamic queues?
Specs of server
P4 1.8
1gig mem
80gig drive
what problems you have with this setup?
as you say - 600+ users, i would suggest to use user-manager in this situation, if you are not using that already.
I have no problem yet as i don’t have 600 users but will be taking two servers that both have 300 users each and using one server.
I had endless issue’s with version 3.10 and below when i had more than 200 connections , downgraded to 2.9 no more problems.
I thought maybe that i will have issues with 2.9.51 once i hit 400 connections.
Just wanna now if anyone has a mikrotik pptp server with more that 600 pptp connections.
P.S i prefer radius manager than user manager
of course, use what you know best, but that is common knowledge that RouterOS inner user database for PPP is designed to work best with up to 100 users, of course, it will work with more, but after 200 - 300 for best results use user-manager or radius server to authenticate users. That way - management becomes easier and you will easily scape up to 1000 - 1500 users with that configuration without any problems.
