Hi!
IWe have been using Mikrotik 60G AP’s for extremely low-latency systems and they work as a dream. Currently there are PtP links with clear line of sight, distance ~5-100m. Now the next application We would need similar performance is bit more challenging. The devices that carry the AP’s are moving around. So basically we would need a 60G “mesh” where the AP links change over time.
So suppose that we have, say, 6 x 60g AP’s, A, B, C, D, E and F. At time t0 A sees B and C, B sees A and D and so on. At t1 A sees C and D… At any given Time there exists a complete set of links for all of the AP’s.
We have tried this with 2.4GHz AP’s but the mesh capacity ran so low that the setup didn’t work. Total data sent from clients is just around 2-3Mb/s.
Could it be achieved with 60G AP’s? The new 180deg devices would really help with setup.
