I am trying to setup a pair of mikrotik routerboards connected to each other via a 60GHz ptp link and a 5GHz ptp link plugged into ether1 and ether2 on both routerboards, using the 60GHz as the primary and if the wireless RF link drops then traffic goes over the 5GHz instead until the 60GHz link is restored, this is to link a second building to a main office buildings LAN, pretty basic.
I thought i could just do it via two static ip routes but my issue is the routerboards have no knowledge of the wireless link being down and thinks it’s reachable just because the ethernet ports are up where the ip addresses are added.
Thanks, i did try this but it takes about 20 seconds to switch routes when i disable the 60GHz link, how can i change the timings of the check gateway ping? ie 1 second or less
Thanks, i looked but there was no options under routing settings in winbox, just a tick box for single process, same in terminal, i just upgraded software and firmware to 7.20.6 but still the same.
Thanks, yes i see now, just upgraded and tested, seems to work really well, just one timeout to the lo ip address when i disable the 60GHz rf interface.
