751G-2HnD Changing AP freq stops wireless. Quickset Broken??

Hi,

It now seems that quickset is broken.

Just got a 751G-2HnD & have upgraded to the latest OS ver.

When I change the Frequency in AP mode via quickset wireless stops working even if I reboot.

It won’t start again even if I set it back to the original frequency. I have also set my country. It worked out the box & works if I reset but stops as soon as I change the frequency.

In wireless table it no longer shows an ‘r’ after changeing frequency.

What am I missing plz?

Thanx
Paul

OK,

After more playing around & wondering why I am getting different results after doing the same thing after a reset I used the manual method (winbox) down the side rather than quickset & things went as expected.

What gives is quickset just broken??

Have you tried using winbox or webfig to change the frequency without quickset in /interface wireless?

Yes am using winbox now was using quickset via winbox before.

So if I invoked quickset via winbox & change the freq dead radio.
So if I invoked quickset via winbox & change the IP most of the time dead radio.
Quite possiably if I make any changes with quickset after invoking it from winbox radio dead.

If from winbox I use the manual menus ie the ones below quickset, Inferface (/) etc no problem. Have just set my router up in 15mins using this method after 3-4 days of trying just to set the IP & Freq with quickset.

Is quickset broken? or my router?

When I say radio dead I think I could still scan etc but from an AP point of view dead. Think interface (terminology?) was not running as the ‘r’ had gone.

ros 5.16

Thanx

This could be a bug with quickset. You might want to email support at support@mikrotik.com.

Edit: correct email address

I see now that u only fet an ‘r’ when somethings is actually conected. It’s been working just fine all night so I will do a backup followed by a reset and see what happens again when I try quickset.

Thank you very much for the report, it seems we have found the problem!

Cool just to note it also seems to happen when I change IP addr also.

Did a reset & AP OK changed IP via Quickset & no AP.
Did a reset & AP OK changed IP via / & AP OK

It happens because Quickset changes the wireless protocol to “NV2” which is RouterOS only, laptops can’t use it. We will fix it.
