802.11 a/n 300mbit/sec minipci card

Hi,

I couldn’t find a mikrotik radio board that can do 300mbit/sec. However I have found the following:
http://www.ubnt.com/products/sr715.php

It is a 300mbit/sec wireless minipci card using the 5.8ghz range with a Atheros chipset.
Would Mikrotik OS support this card at all or is there a mikrotik specific one in the development pipeline?

I would answer your question, but I know you are not going to read the answer, so I’m not going to bother.

802.11a does not support 300Mbps speeds and Mikrotik has not released support for 802.11n yet.
It was expected at the last MUM but not delivered.

Seems to be stuck in “any day now” status. Would be nice to hear something official other than “when it is ready”.

Tom

when 802.11n standard is ready

Well that was a very dissapointing answer…Just because I only have one post doesn’t mean I am going to read the answer, in fact if that was the case I wouldn’t ask in the first place. Remember, there aint really a stupid question, just…

Well I really hope the 802.11n standard happen some time soon then, 300mbit/sec wireless could be quite useful in a lot of scenarios I imagine.

Guess we start playing the wait game for now =/

The problem is that your one post is a question that gets asked and answered every 2 days.
If you didn’t read the other answers, the chances are slim that you’ll read these.

Look carefully:

No offense but I did do more than 1 search and browsed the section you pointed out a bit but there really is no definite answer.

Is it so difficult to just give out a straight answer?

straight answer: RouterOS doesn’t support any 802.11n cards, and there has been no official statement on whether and when it will.

ROS, has support for sr715 now?
