802.11A link Question

Is 802.11a so sensitive that it will not travel through a single pain of glass?

I have a routerboard on our roof with 802.11a card for backbone, 802.11b card for hotspot/ppoe. On the mountain I have the same.

I want to add another repeater the same as above, and in attempting to set the unit up I have it sitting here in my showroom. I have a directional 802.11a antani pointing directly to the 8db omni antani on the mountain. (just like is what on the roof here)

I thought I had a bad rb532 so I pickedup one of the older routerboards and thers no change. I’ve made sure my cables and antani’s are good too.

Is the glass tinted? Some types of tinting use metal particles. Drag it outside and try it.

no tints, single pain, clear glass… I can shoot 802.11b through it and get perfect signals as well.
