802.11ac Talk

I am shooting a link 6.82 miles from A to B. I am shooting through about 10 trees or more. NLOS Here are my results

UDP traffic
udp.PNG
TCP traffic 20 conn
tcp20.PNG
TCP traffic 1 conn
tcp1.PNG

Does anyone know how to get the spectrum analyzer to work? Looks like its not supported. Is this correct?

Anyone have any thoughts?

Dallas, What size channel? 80mhz?

yes 80mhz nstreme. If you use 802.11ac protocol. wlan to wlan you can pass more traffic but traffic cant go through the until as fast. With nstreme there is faster throughput. This is pretty good for nlos and the distance.

Nstreme works very bad in .ac for now. But try nv2. You get high throughput and a bit higher, but stable latency.

I did try nv2. The bandwidth frucuated too much. I am shooting 7 miles and going through 1 grove of trees. Nstreme has more solid results. What I really need is a spectrum analyzer. I am going to try spacing 2 dishes apart to get more signal to noise.

Hi there,

these results are impressive especially through trees, can you please outline the setup, radio type antenna size etc?

Many thanks,

Nikki

I am going to make results better. ubnt dual pole 30dbi dish. Use nstreme. thats it.

Hi,

Could you post your current config? I just put up a couple of netmetal link’s and I am having trouble with stable throughput. My links are 8 miles and 4 miles. The 4 mile link I can get 320Mbps udp, but tcp is maybe around 100Mbps. The 8 mile link is half of that. I must have a config issue.

Please show your config.

Thanks,
Dan.

from my experience putting up more links is its interference. Change channel until its faster. Dont use any protocol except nstreme. Nstreme is the only protocol that can pass traffic through the radio at high speeds. 802.11 can pass way faster than nstreme but only wlan to wlan. Not through the unit.

one more thing. If that dont help try one addition thing. Disable all data rates for N and use AC only and set the mc7 for basic and all chains. This will get you less transmit errors if you have interference.

Normis says they will get it working yet, its on there too do list.

Can you post some screen shots of your config?
