802.11ac

Hi all,

is MikroTik already testing samples of 802.11ac chips from Qualcom Atheros QCA9880 3x3 and QCA9882 2x2 chips for 802.11ac/a/b/g/n, QCA9890 3x3 and QCA9892 2x2 chips for 802.11ac/a/b/g/n (enhanced in-building location and spectral sensing capabilities)?

we are always researching new technologies, but as always, we can’t confirm any planned products before they are announced at the MikroTik User Meeting (MUM)

Normis, with care and experience do not even ask about the date of 802.11ac support. I do not even ask about the new cards with these chips. But maybe even a shadow of hope? Q1 2013 is possible?

Qualcomm has already shown performance of the new chips:

I don’t think there’s any chance for that.
MT will mostly be busy with CCR and ROS6 during Q4 12 / Q1 13.
I would rather count on somewhere like Q4 13.
