Who was at the MUM? Was there an announcement of 802.11n?
Nope
It wasn’t neither announced an ETA
Mikrotik did not say new infomation the “n mode”. ![]()
This is a big problem.
But it showed the presentations of the licensed device. ![]()
That’s too bad. I was really hoping that they would surprise us and say it is now released and stable.
We have a lot of customers both asking for and expecting 802.11n.
Tom
they say
11n
gigabit lan
usb
so,whats new model ?
I was hoping that too…
There are some other products that are using mimo in 5ghz with very good performance!
When MikroTik will do that?
MikroTik needs to get on the 802.11n band wagon quickly as I know of several providers looking to deploy links and hoping to use 802.11n. I was talking with another provider that we border with and do some joint work with and they said if MT doesn’t offer an 802.11n product by March 15 they are going to order from another supplier because they’ve been waiting for 6 months.
Too bad that my “expectation” that was built up my Normis seemed to be crushed at MUM. It’s not like this is super top secret stuff guys, there are several other providers with the equipment, give us a date please… Or at least don’t build up our hopes with posts like below:
http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/when-mikrotik-support-11n-mimo-sr71-5/26206/4
Is this real? No announcement about 802.11n? MT! What’s happened? My last information was that you will make the announcement on the MUM.
call me what you want i don’t belev this anymore ![]()
due to some technical issue that slowed down the release of [some things] we were not able to make the announcement, but it’s not that far now anymore. just wait.
I do really hope..
MT can have support on the 802.11n..
The 11a + turbo also is not sufficient for our deployment already.
Hi. What are your requirements?
I have achieved 70mbps sustained with Turbo A.
75mbps (TCP) for me. Instead of .n make a bonding ![]()
Bonding is o.k. when you have only a small count of links at one location. If you have a high count of links you will have problems with the available spectrum …
I will test now other equipment. Can’t tell my customers “Wait!” without giving a timeline.
Same thing they said year ago - “we are working on it”
Normis,
How about some details as to what these technical difficulties are and maybe a time table? I think this could quite possibly be the biggest feature for Mikrotik of 2009, I know of a great number of people sitting on the fence looking for this to be completed or at least know when to expect it so they can plan accordingly. Even if it’s not 100%, throw us a bone, maybe an alpha release or a 80211n-testing package set that will allow us to fire up some gear, play a bit, etc. I think everyone would like to know that the whole thing isn’t vaporware.
My guess is that they have an 802.11n card of their own design in the works, and are waiting for stock to arrive from the contract manufacturer. Which would kinda explain why they did not show it or announce it at the MUM, and why 3.21 is taking longer than usual to be “released”
Fingers are crossed ![]()
Mikrotik make some awesome products and I have high hopes for the future.
I would put 20 on black (on that hardware thing nc_monkey said). I would not want to promote Ubnt also if they were giving away prizes to developers to usurp my own product.
that you may have given out some support for 802.11n?
Same here…
I saw a demo of an 11n bridge at Cebit almost a month ago. 90mbps sustained throughput using a single dual-pol antenna, and I know that Atheros’s 11n chipsets can reach 170Mbps throughput on a 2x2. Try to sell MT gear against that stuff…
And please don’t give me the bonding talk… I’ve used bonding several times, most of the times I’ve taken it off after a while.
