802.11n

hi there!
don’t forget, we still waiting for 802.11n standart. linux published ath9k for atheros miniPCI wireless cards, as we well know, included in newest 2.6.27 kernels. i am still not sure how it works, but it works. what about our mikrotik 11n drivers.

Who here is thinking about using 802.11n in a PtMP environment ?

I’ve been thinking about it. I do wonder how the CPE antenna would be set up.

Before I think about 802.11n I will test MTs 802.11n. I cause of cost of dual polarised cpe antennas and the market I will not think about 802.11n-PMP.

ptp/ptmp environment - it doesen’t matter… n standart gives more “banwidth-ish” links.
it is possible alreagy with linux.
but we like to use our lovely mikrotik.
what we shall do: -stay and wait mt support (if yes, how long?); or -use another os?

thats.

PMP for me is about CPE cost and cleints per BS radio. I would like one decreasing and the other increasing

and you will put 3 antennas at every client?
Now thats really smart.

yeah, mr. Smarty,
we have customers with four antennas now… for nstreme2…
if thats so "   " - ish, tell us how to deliver 150Mbps to a single customer

just a little note here. i am talking about using n-standart not just in a ptmp mode, just for mikrotik support at all. last mile providers need high speed links 'cause adsl and wimax comes too soon.

id est the question is “how soon mikrotik users should use high bandwidth wireless”. in this and at the related manner i asked for 11n-standart above. not to making a jokes with number of antennas.

I could sure use it in home, office and hotspot installs.
